1. show of courage; noisy,showy display表現(xiàn)勇敢；叫鬧。
△Oth.1.1.100: “Upon malicious bravery dostthou come/To start my quiet.”你不懷好意，前來撒潑，驚擾我的安寧。(按： bravery一詞，又作knavery——耍無賴。)
2.ostentatious display,bragging.bravado夸耀的表現(xiàn)，自夸，虛張聲勢。
△Ham.5.2.79:“But sure the braveryof his grief did put me/Into a towering passion.”可是也得怪他那樣夸大他的悲哀，才惹我大發(fā)了一陣火性子。
3.finery,splendid dress,expensive clothes華麗服飾，漂亮服裝，貴重衣服。
△As.2.7.80:“That says his braveryis not on my cost，” i.e. Who says that his splendiddress is not paid for by me (and that I therefore haveno right to criticise him for it).若是說他的漂亮服裝并不是用我的錢做的（因此我就沒有權(quán)利批評他）。
