1. consistency,certainty前后一致，確實。
△Mid.5.1.26:“something of great constancy；”真情實況。
2. persistence,firmness,perseverance堅持，堅定，不屈不撓。
△Mac.2.2.69(65):“Your constancy/Hath leftyou unattended. ”i.e. Your firmness has desertedyou. 你平素的那一種堅毅把你拋棄了。
△H.VIII.3.2.1:“Ifyou will now unite in your complaints./And forcethem with a constancy. the Cardinal / Cannot standunder them.”只要你們在控訴之中聯(lián)合起來，并且堅持不懈地進行下去，紅衣主教在這種壓力下就會站不住腳。
3.(used ironically) fickleness（反語）反復(fù)無常。
