Lucrece:1.i.e. a noble Roman womanwho committed suicide after her rape by Sextus Tarqinius,hence a type of chaste wife.Cf.Shakespeare's “The Rape of Lucrece”. 魯克麗絲,一位羅馬貴族婦女,為王子塞克斯特斯·塔昆涅斯強行污辱,憤而自盡,遂成為貞潔妻子的典型。莎士比亞長詩《魯克麗絲受辱記》即敘此事。 △Shr.2.1.290(296): “And Roman Lucrece for her chastity;” 講到她的貞潔,可以媲美羅馬的魯克麗絲。
