1. quality of being wise聰明品性。
your wisdom: your wise self (an ironic form of theconventional title of address your worship)聰明的閣下，您這位聰明人。(按照your worship“閣下”而編造的含有嘲弄意味的稱呼。)
△Tw. 3.1.47(41): “I think I saw yourwisdom there.”我記得我曾經(jīng)在那里見過聰明的閣下。
2. intellect智力。
△Ham.1.3.25: “It fits your wis-dom so far to believe it”，i.e. It is proper for your in-tellect to believe it so far. 以你的智力，你只可相信他的話到這種程度。
3. sanity,reason清醒頭腦，理智。
△Lr.1.4.102 (91):“Go to,have you wisdom ? So，” 去你的，你有頭腦沒有？去。
△Lr.4.5.34: “And when your mistress hearsthus much from you,/ I pray desire her call her wis-dom to her. ”你把我的話說給你家女主人聽了以后.就請她放明智一點(diǎn)。
△Lr.5.3. 143(142): “In wisdom I shouldask thy name，”(Because a knight should refuse tofight with an adversary of lower rank.) 按照理智，我該問問你的名字。
4. the way of worldly wisdom 世故之道。
△ Mac.4.3.15: “and wisdom / To offer up a weak,poor,inno-cent lamb / To appease an angry god.” i. e. and it isthe way of worldly wisdom,etc. 而且獻(xiàn)出一只柔弱、可憐、無辜的羊羔去討好一個憤怒的天神，也是聰明之道。
5. philosophy,knowledge,science 哲學(xué)，知識，科學(xué)。
