弘誓大愿hóng shì dà yuàna great vow and a profound promise; an important vow
? 我已發(fā)了～，不取真經(jīng)，永墮沉淪地獄。(《西游記》167) I have already made a great vow and a profound promise that if I do not acquire the true scriptures,I shall fall into eternal perdition in Hell.
? 我弟子曾在化生寺對(duì)佛說(shuō)下～，不由我不盡此心。(《西游記》169) This disciple has already made an important vow before Buddha in the Temple of Transformation,and he has no alternative but to fulfill it with his whole heart. |
