Hercules:

i.e. Herakles,the greatest hero of Greekmythology,son of Zeus and Alcmena,who was perse-cuted by Hera from his cradle. But he grew up to bethe most valiant and accomplished man,and under-took a series of exploits,known as the twelve “La-bours of Hercules”. Once,as punishment of his insan-ity and murder,he was sold to Omphale,queen ofLydia,who forced him to put on women's clothes anddo menial work,spinning among her maids and turn-ing the spit in the kitchen.
