Leander:(Gr. myth.) youth of Abydos who nightlyswam the Hellespont to visit Hero of Sestos （希臘神話）利安德，阿比多斯的一個青年，每晚從亞洲這邊游過赫勒斯滂海峽，到歐洲那邊的塞斯托斯去會愛人。

Leander and Hero: Hero was a priestess at Sestos.Leander,her lover,lived at Abydos on the other sideof the Hellespont. To visit her,Leander swam acrossthe Hellespont each night,but on one of these jour-neys he was drowned. Marlowe wrote a poem Heroand Leander” to describe their story利安德與希羅。希羅是塞斯托斯的女祭司。她的情人利安德住在赫勒斯滂海峽對岸的阿比多斯，每夜游過海峽與她相會，后在一次游海中淹死。馬洛寫有《希羅與利安德》一詩描述他們的故事，
