1. of Lent,the Christian period of fasting beforeEaster（復(fù)活節(jié)前四十天內(nèi)的）大齋期的：
△Rom.2.4.141(132):“a lenten pie，”i.e. a pie for Lent. a pie eatenduring Lent. 大齋期吃的餡餅。
2. fitted for Lent,the fasting period of the Christian Church; meagre,scanty,pool大齋期的；（轉(zhuǎn)義）粗陋的，貧乏的，寒傖的。
△Ham.2.2.336 (315): “To think,mylord,if you delight not in man,what lenten enter-tainment the players shall receive from you.”我在想，殿下，假如你不喜歡人，那么那班戲子恐怕只有受到你很簡陋的接待了。(又譯：恐怕難得你一顧了。)
