1. misfortune,calamity,disaster,trouble不幸，災(zāi)禍，災(zāi)難，麻煩。
△Wiv.4.2.77(73): “Good hearts,devisesomething; any extremity rather than a mischief.”好人兒們，想個(gè)辦法吧，怎么樣都行，只要不遭災(zāi)禍。
△Ado. 3. 2.137(132):“O mischief strangely thwarting!”啊，災(zāi)難偏偏來(lái)阻擋好事。
△Oth.1.3.204: “To mourn a mischiefthat is past and gone / Is the next way to draw newmischief on.”哀悼已成為過(guò)去的不幸，便是招引新的不幸的捷徑。
