地球唯的一自然衛(wèi)星，月球繞地球運轉(zhuǎn)一周需27.32天，運程384 400公里。本身不發(fā)光，亮度隨位相變化。一年中可出現(xiàn)2～3次月食。質(zhì)量為地球的1 /81.3，重量為地球的1/6，直徑3 476公里。月球上無水，基本上無大氣。內(nèi)部結(jié)構(gòu)分月殼、月幔和月核3部分，月核甚小。1969年7月美國“阿波羅”8號的宇航員首次登上月球，并在月球上放置儀器，帶回月球巖石、土壤樣品和照片。
