Nero:1.i.e. the Roman emperor (A. D. 54-68) who was thetype of hard-hearted cruelty尼祿，羅馬皇帝，殘暴無情的典型。
△3H.VI.3.1.40:“And Nero will be tainted withremorse / To hear and see her plaints,her brinishtears.”即使尼祿，聽到她的慟哭.看見她那辛酸的眼淚，也不得不受到感動(dòng)。
△Lr.3.6.8 (6): “Frateretto calls me,andtells me Nero is an angler in the lake of darkness.”弗拉特累多在叫我，并且告訴我尼祿在陰間湖上做釣客。(按：愛德伽信口瞎編，表示他自己精神失常。)
2. According to contemporaries. Nero ordered thecity of Rome to be set on fire and played on the harp singing of the sack of Troy as he watched it burn.尼祿，羅馬暴君，據(jù)說曾下令焚燒羅馬城，而他則一面觀火一面彈琴唱歌。
