perditionn. 1. utter destruction. entire ruin 毀滅,覆滅。 △Tw.3.4 320(289):“this shall end without the perdition ofsouls. ”i.e. without the loss of lives or killing. 這件事情大概不用傷害性命就能了結(jié)。 △Oth.2.2.3: “the mereperdition of the Turkish fleet.”土耳其艦隊(duì)全部覆滅。 2. utter loss of final happiness in a future state永劫。 △Oth.3.3.90: “Perdition catch my soul / But I dolove thee!”如果我不愛(ài)你,愿我的靈魂永墮地獄!
