△Rom.2.4.142(133):“something stale and hoar ere it be spent.”沒(méi)有吃完就有點(diǎn)陳腐發(fā)霉了。
2. used up. consumed,done with用完，消耗掉，完蛋。
△2H.IV.3.2.130(116):“Mouldy,it is time you werespent.”霉頭，你到了該送命的時(shí)候了。
3. passed,gone,finished; i.e.well advanced,wellunder way過(guò)去，流逝，完結(jié)；（轉(zhuǎn)義）相當(dāng)超前，大有進(jìn)展。
△R.III.3.2.88 (89): “The day is spent.”i.e.It isgetting late. 天已經(jīng)不早了。
spentp. a.exhausted筋疲力盡的。
△ Mac.1.2.8:“Astwo spent swimmers that do cling together / Andchoke their art.” i.e.Like two swimmers weakthrough tiredness,who hold each other tightly andprevent each other from using their skill in swim-ming. 正像兩個(gè)筋疲力盡的游泳人，扭做一團(tuán)，顯不出他們的本領(lǐng)，要同歸于盡。 |
