Thisby:a Babylonian maid,loved by Pyramus. Theywere obliged to meet in secret. One night,coming bymoonlight to Ninus’ tomb to meet Pyramus. she saw alion devouring an ox. While running away shedropped her mantle which the lion seized and stainedwith blood. Pyramus arrived later,found the blood-stained mantle,supposed Thisby to be dead,sostabbed himself. Then Thisby,returning to find herlover’s dead body,also stabbed herself.瑟絲貝，巴比倫一少女，與皮拉摩斯相愛，并私自約會(huì)。一夜晚，她乘月光到尼努斯墳地與皮拉摩斯相會(huì)，遇一猛獅正撕咬一牛，瑟絲貝驚逃時(shí)丟下的外衣為獅子抓去并染上血污。皮拉摩斯隨之而來，見血衣，以為瑟絲貝已死，乃自殺。瑟絲貝繼至，見其情人尸體，亦自殺。
