△ Mer.1.1.28: “Vailing her high top lower than her ribs”，它那高高的桅桿倒下來，偏墜得比船肋還低。
△ 1H.VI.5.3.24: “Now the time is come / That France must vailher lofty-plumed crest”，現(xiàn)在時(shí)辰到了，法蘭西必須低下她那羽毛高高飄動(dòng)的頭盔。
△ R.III. 4.4.349 (348): “To vailthe title. as her mother doth.”不過是使這一稱號(hào)降低，像她母親那樣。(按： vail又作wail = 哀哭。)
