It s time to ~ work. 是開始工作的時候了。 We shall ~ the meeting at seven o'clock. 我們將于七點鐘開始開會。 The meeting will ~ at seven o'clock. 會議將于七點鐘開始。 He has begun a new book, is reading (or writing) the first few pages. 他已繭始讀(或寫) 一本新書。 ~ (on), [VP3A] the v being understood 其復之動詞可亍解: He has begun on (= is reading, writing) a new book. 他已開始(讀,寫) 一本新書。 Has he begun (on) another bottle, begun to drink another bottle? 他已開始(喝)另一瓶酒了嗎? 2 [VP7A, 6D] (used of activities and states that come into existence. The inf is preferred when the pred denotes a state of mind or a mental activity): (用于開始發(fā)生的動作和狀態(tài)。當述詞所指為心理狀態(tài)或精神活動時, 以用不定詞為佳): She began to feel dizzy/afraid. 她開始感覺眩暈(害怕)。 I'm ning to understand. 我漸漸懂得了。 I began to think you were never coming. 我開始覺得你永遺不會來了。 (The inf is preferred when the grammatical subject is lifeless, not a person): (O文法上之主詞為無生命之物而非人時,用不吏詞為佳): The plaster was ~ ning to fall from the walls. 播上的取泥開始脫落。 The barometer began to fall. 氣壓計開始下降。 The water is ~ ning to boil. 水逐漸沸騰。 The snow began to melt when the sun came out. 太陽出來時,雪就開始隔化。 (Either the inf or the gerund is used when the grammatical subject is a person and when the pred indicates an activity or process, not a state. Alternatives are given in the examples. Note that if begin is used in one of the progressive tenses, an inf follows, not a gerund): (當文法上之主詞是人,述詞所指是活動或過程,而非某種狀態(tài)時,不定詞或動名詞均可用。兩種用法于例句中舉出。 注意:在進行式中,begin 之后用不定詞,不用動名詞): When did you begin learning/to learn German? 你什么時候開始學德文的? (SkSK) 開始下雨了。 It is ~ ning to rain (not ~ ning raining). 繭始下雨了 (勿用 beginning raining) → 3 ~ at, start from: 從…繭始: Today we ~ at page 30, line 12. 今天我們從第 30 頁第 12 行開始。 to ~ with, in the first place: 首死:第一點: We can't give Smith the position; to ~ with, he's too young; secondly, I want my son to have the job. 我們不能給史密如這個職位; 第一,他太年輕; 其次, 我想要我的兒子擔任這個工作。 ~ life as, start one's life or career as: 開妬…的生涯: He began life as a builder's labourer. 他開始了做建筑工人的生涯。 ~ the world, (old use; liter) start in life, enter upon one's career. (舊用法; 文)開始謀生; 踏入社會。 ~ ner n (esp) person still learning and without much experience. (尤指)初學者; 無經驗者。 ~ ning 〃 starting point: 開始; 開端; 起點: I've read the book from ~ ning to end. 我已把這書從頭到尾讀完了。 When learning a foreign language, it's important to make a good ~ ning. 學外國語,打一個良好的基礎是重要的。 Did democracy have its ~ nings in Athens? 民主制度是源于雅典嗎? |
