Cranmer:Thomas Cranmer(1489-1556),English prel-ate,who gained favour of Henry Ⅷ by supportingthe divorce of Henry from Queen Katharine. Hetravelled on the European continent gathering learnedopinions on the divorce question,and then declaredHenry’s marriage with Katharine null and void.
