△Tw.1.5.102 (95):“a known discreet man，” 一個公認為明斷的人。
△Lr.1.4.235 (213): “that then necessity / Will call discreetproceeding.”但是如今事出于必要，就是明智的行動了。
2. judicious,prudent審慎的，慎重的。
△Tw.4.3.19:“With such a smooth,discreet,and stable bearing”，以那樣從容、審慎而沉著的態(tài)度。
△2H.IV.2.4.271 (249):“and breeds no bate with telling of discreet stories；”i.e.He causes no discord in his hearers by telling hisharmless stories; he delights his hearers with slander-ous stories. 他講起故事來總是一本正經(jīng)，不會惹出什么爭斗。3. showing discernment,reasonable,sane有辨別力的，有理性的，清醒的。
