2. rear,heels后尾，腳后跟。
△2H.IV.3.2.343 (315):“'A came ever in the rearward of the fashion，”他老是跟著時(shí)髦的腳后跟。
△Ado.4.1.128 (126): “Myselfwould. on the rearward of(i.e. following close after)reproaches. / Strike at thy life.”那么，我自己在把你痛責(zé)一番之后，立刻親手把你殺死。
3. rearguard,guard of men at the rear: somethingsupplementary,superaddition(with a pun on “rear-word”) 后衛(wèi)，后衛(wèi)部隊(duì)；補(bǔ)充物，添加物。(同音雙關(guān)：“后話”。)
