?（承襲） adopt; follow; inherit: 教誨開導(dǎo)成王， 使諭于道而能 ～ 跡于文、武。 Teach and enlighten King Cheng, make him understand principles and be able to inherit the achieverments of King Wen and King Wu.
? （奪去） take away: 怯者夜見立表， 以為鬼也， 風(fēng)寢石， 以為虎也， 懼 ～ 其氣也。 At night, when a coward saw an erect carved column he thought of it as a ghost. When he saw a stone, he regarded it as a tiger. Fear took away his courage.
? （遮蔽） cover; obscure; hide: 瑕不 ～ 瑜。 The defects cannot obscure the virtues.Ⅱ ? （困迫） embarassed; awkward: 君子慎以辟禍， 篤以不 ～， 恭以遠恥。 To a gentleman, carefulness can avoid misfortune, earnest can avoid embarassment, and politeness can avoid shame. |
