How～he behave like that? 他怎么敢那樣干? Nobody～d say a word.誰也不敢說一句話。I don't know if he～try. 我不知道他是否敢于試一試。If you～speak to me like that again， you will be sorry. 如果你再敢那樣跟我說話，你要后悔的。
I dare say可能，或許：I～say your sympathy's with him. 也許你是同情他。It's worth a few pounds， I～say， but no more. 這可能值幾英鎊，但絕不會更多。
【用法】dare用作情態(tài)動詞時，多用于否定和疑問句、以及帶有否定詞hardly、never、nobody等的句子和if、whether引導(dǎo)的間接問句等;dare后接無to不定式，其過去式dared少見，durst是古舊形式，僅見于口語中;無過去分詞、現(xiàn)在分詞和不定式形式;一般現(xiàn)在時單數(shù)第三人稱亦無變化。dare say只用于現(xiàn)在時第一人稱，兩字分開寫;如果重音落在say上，也可寫為一個詞：I dare say you're right.(也許你是對的。)
