2. make blunt,dull the edge of,weaken. repress,ren-der ineffective使鈍，使（刀刃）變鈍，削弱，抑制，使得不起作用。
△R.III. 5. 4. 48 (5. 5.35):“Abate the edge of trai-tors，” i.e. make blunt the edges of traitors' swords. 使得叛徒們刀劍的鋒刃變鈍而不起作用。
3. ?diminish縮減。
?blunt把…弄鈍。
