△2H. Ⅵ.2.3.11:“Shall,after three days’ open penance done,/ Live inyour country here in banishment，”三天的公開懺悔之后，就要在你有生之年一直在國(guó)內(nèi)過放逐生活。
2. infliction suffered for transgression,or as an ex-pression of repentance苦行贖罪，苦行悔罪。
△H.Ⅷ.5.4.44 (5.3.42): “all that stand about him are underthe line,they need no other penance.” 凡是站在他周圍的人等于站在赤道上，不需要什么別的苦行來贖罪了。
△Tw.3.4.152 (137): “We may carry it thus. for our pleasureand his penance,till our very pastime,tired out ofbreath,prompt us to have mercy on him:”我們可以這樣進(jìn)行下去，為的是讓我們開開心，讓他吃吃苦頭，一直等到我們把這玩笑玩膩了，再對(duì)他發(fā)發(fā)慈悲。
