△H.VIII.5.5.19(5.4.18): “Though in hercradle,yet now promises / Upon this land a thousandthousand blessings,/ Which time shall bring to ripe-ness.”雖然尚在襁褓之中，她現(xiàn)在就向這片國(guó)土預(yù)告著時(shí)間將會(huì)醞釀成熟的無(wú)窮幸福。
2. maturity,readiness成熟，準(zhǔn)備好。
△Lr.5.2.9:“Menmust endure / Their going hence even as their cominghither; / Ripeness is all.”i.e. All that matters is thatone is ready for death when it comes. (“going hence”= death；“coming hither”= birth)人的一死一生，都應(yīng)該耐心忍受天命的安排：最重要的是準(zhǔn)備成熟。 |
