1. possessed of wit,clever,ingenious有機(jī)智的，乖巧的，機(jī)靈的。
△Mid.5.1.169 (167):“It is the wittiest parti-tion that ever I heard discourse,my lord.”我的主公，這是我所聽見的說話最機(jī)智的一堵墻。
2. clever,cunning靈巧的，狡猾的。
△Ado.4.2. 28 (25):“A marvellous witty fellow.”好一個乖巧的家伙。
3. possessed of wit,full of pleasant conceits,humor-ous有機(jī)智的，充滿滑稽念頭的，幽默的。
△2H.IV.1.2.10(9):“I am not only witty in myself,but the cause thatwit is in other men.”我不但自己機(jī)智，還是別人機(jī)智的啟發(fā)者。
4. intelligent,wise聰明的，智慧的。
