廣陵散絕guǎng líng sǎn juéthe ‘Melody of Guangling’is no more—there is no successor to carry forward the fine tradition
? 嵇中散 （嵇康） 臨刑東市，神氣不變，索琴彈之，奏《廣陵散》，曲終曰： “袁孝尼嘗請學(xué)此散，吾靳固不與，《廣陵散》于今絕矣?！?劉義慶《世說新語·雅量》) On the eve of Ji Kang’s execution in the Eastern Marketplace of Luoyang,his spirit and manner showed no change. Taking out his seven stringed zither,he plucked the strings and played the‘Melody of Guangling’.When the song was ended,he said，“Yuan Chun once asked to learn this melody,but I remained firm in my stubbornness,and never gave it to him. From now on the ‘Melody of Guangling’is no more!” |
