(2)要人(important person)：She acts as if she were～since she won the prize. 自從獲獎以來，她就表現(xiàn)得好像自己很了不起似的。He is～in his own town but just a nobody here. 在他那個鎮(zhèn)子上他算是個人物，可在這兒卻是無名之輩。
or somebody 諸如此類的人：This sort of work needs a mechanic or～. 這種工作需要一位機修工之類的人。
【用法】不定代詞 somebody、someone、everyone、no one 等都是單數(shù)，因而后面就應(yīng)跟一個單數(shù)代詞(如 he、she、his、her 等)。根據(jù)習(xí)慣，如果人的性別不詳，可用男性代詞he、him、his 來泛指男性和女性;為避免性別之嫌，可用they、them、their (口語中尤如此)。
