| 釋義 | yourself/j?:′self，j?′-, AmE j?r′-, j?:r′-, j?r′-/ pron［yourselves /-′selvz/］ (1)你(們)自己(identical person or creature that is you，used reflexively as the object of a preposition or of a verb)：Did you ask～“where”? 你問過自己“在哪兒”嗎?You can dry～with this towel.你可以用這條毛巾把身子擦干。You will hurt～with this knife.你會用這把刀把自己傷著。Why are you looking at～ves in the mirror? 你們?yōu)槭裁凑甄R子?Did you walk across the wild all by～?你是自己孤身一人穿越荒野的嗎?try sth out/think for～ves instead of just obeying orders 親自嘗試某事/自己思考而不要只是聽從指令;You can all see for～ves that the room is empty.你們都可以親眼看到房間是空的。 (2)你(們)本人(emphatic appositive of you)：a letter you～wrote 你本人寫的一封信;You～can't do the job/told me the story.你本人做不了這工作/給我講過這個故事。 (3)你的正常情況(your normal self)(用于be，come to 后)：You are not～today.你今天情緒不正常。You'll soon be～again.你會很快恢復(fù)健康的。 You have not been～these past few weeks.這幾個星期你的精神狀態(tài)不好。 (4)靠本人(without help)：The surest way is to do/carry it (all) (by)～.最穩(wěn)妥的方法就是你自己去做/拿。I'll show you how to do the sum，then you must do the others(by)～ves.我來給你們示范如何做這道題，之后你們必須獨立完成其他題。 【用法】類似yourself的反身代詞要和需要它的動詞連用，如：enjoy yourself (過得快活);在某些動詞之后加上它或省掉它都不會改變原意，如：He washed (himself). (他洗澡。)這類詞可用在動詞與介詞之后，試比較：Jennie looked at herself(=Jennie) in the mirror.(珍妮看著鏡子里的自己。)試對比：Jennie looked at her(=another woman) in the mirror. (珍妮看著鏡子里的她。) 【注意】 yourself不能用于“空間方位或方向”含義的介詞之后，如：Shut the door behind you.(隨手關(guān)門。)不能表達成：*Shut the door behind yourself. |
