2. advancement,promotion提升，晉級(jí)。
△Mer.2.2.161 (146):“if it be preferment / To leave a rich Jew’sservice,to become / The follower of so poor a gentle-man.”如果丟下侍候一個(gè)有錢猶太人的差事，而來(lái)做這樣窮的位紳士的跟班，能算是升級(jí)的話。
△Lr.4. 5.38: “Prefer-ment falls on him that cuts him off.”誰(shuí)殺死他，誰(shuí)就受重賞。
