? 卻說蜀將吳班領(lǐng)先鋒之印，自出川以來，所到之處，望風(fēng)而降，～，直到宜都；……(《三國演義》702) Now Wu Ban has received his seal as leader of the van. From the day he left the borders of Sichuan he had had un interrupted success. Everyone had submitted at the mere rumour of his coming. He had conducted his campaign with unstained swords as far as Yidu.
? 故近者親其善，遠(yuǎn)方慕其義； ～，遠(yuǎn)邇來服，德盛于此，施及四極。(《荀子》158) Those nearby were won by their goodness,and those far off were filled with longing by their virtue.
